Nostalgia

I've been working on an improvised silent-film score this week so I didn't get much time for the challenge. As today is Eastern Orthodox Easter I went with the obvious and chose the E minor key for this jam. It's simple and musical, with whimsical chime patterns, piano-like melody (which is actually a synth), MicroFreak solo and bass guitar accompaniment.

Awesome. Are you making the silent film to or just the score? I'd love to see it.

Just the score. The film is a restored copy of a Romanian film from 1929. I think around mid-May they will release it online and I'll get you the link. Cheers!

Do share the film please ([email protected]). Sounds like an interesting project! Nice atmospheric comp. Long form gives time to build and develop.  The brassy synth sounds in the second half are awesome. Super laid back melodies and leads.

That's super exciting AND inspiring. Looking forward to it.
