In Remembrance

By Aletheia on November 8, 2020 9:41 pm

Today I received the sad news of the passing away of a friend. Not even 30 years old, he was an extremely talented musician and an equally capable sound engineer, as well as a kind and full of humour man. He was optimistic about his music studio surviving these difficult times but he now switched to the music stage bordering infinity.

Upon hearing this I felt guilt, in a way...because life throws us all sorts of worries and ”urgent” things to do and thus we forget about one another. I haven't been good at keeping in touch with this friend recently. And now I won't be able to ever do so again. It says so much about how we set our priorities and how at many times we fail to find the will to be human.

As a gesture of fare well to him I recorded this track, just picked up the guitar and went with whatever feeling came.

Sorry to hear.  Lost a friend this year myself.  Sucks.

Powerful track and I like the depth of verb.  The last section is cool with the sweep tones.
Music is damn good therapy.

Sorry about your loss, this is always a terrible thing for a person to die, especially that young.

Beautiful track. The guitar reminds me of Neil Young.

Please accept my condolences.
You did well with this homage, I'm sure he would be thankful for this deep and impactful track.

My condolences, your elegy to him is very well done.

Thanks and condolences to you as well. The reverb is FAC Alteza, it's on the iPad which I use to record and sequence. Extremely recommended. And you are right, I cannot count the times when I've been out of a depressive situation with making music. Total therapy.

Thank you, great compliment!

Thank you! Yes, I think he would...although he had a great sense of humour, he would probably first look with a teacher-like face, point the mistakes and then "aaaah, it's good, man, fuck this and let's drink" smile
