Electric Touch

By Aletheia on November 1, 2020 11:11 pm

Continuing in the style of last week here's another blend of pan flute with electronic instruments. To this I also added some electric guitar as the last part of the song really needed some "chug". In the key of E minor, I first recorded some arpeggio line using the VolcaFM (still amazed by how musical the lines of its arp sequencer sound) then created a slow pad on the MicroFreak. Once that was set I switched to a more straight lead sound and my usual Novation Circuit rhythms - a very simple one was just enough for the groove. The next layer was the pan flute which I still surprise myself with, as I play it intuitively rather than knowingly. Finally, I recorded a Volca Keys melody and solo - this last step was filmed with my phone, the lighting was really bad so I added a weird effect on top:

Epic! Drums and guitars sound really big. I like that synth lead with the Theremin portamento quality. Nice work!

Thanks! Yes, since Volcas have ribbon keys it's easy and fun to do such sound.

What an epic journey. Don't be afraid to go ham on the flute though.
