Crossing the Threshold

By Aletheia on December 27, 2020 10:50 pm

Well this is it, final weekly track for 2020. Up until this year, I had been really bad at making music constantly, I always felt it's not good enough, I would edit forever and if I had something I would only send it to a couple of people and that was it. But this challenge helped me grow enormously. I've only missed two weeks so I've made 50 tracks! 50, after doing 3 or 4 a year. Whether they are good or bad, if I noodled aimlessly or actually structured and been coherent I think right now matters little. Usually people say it should never be quantity over quality but in art quality sometimes is born out of this very quantity because experience is the most important teacher. I am so happy with this personal achievement so the last track for the year is a simple improvisation with an acoustic guitar and a decaying looper. Having quite a large delay time (30 seconds) music comes "from the past" and becomes present as I improvise with it and weave new patterns. It's like our dealing with art and life, always coming from behind in a spiral and we have to build from it, we cannot ignore it. Thanks to all who listened and best of luck in the next year! I'll surely do it again!

Beautiful! Thank you and best of luck in 2021

Lovely harmonies. I'm glad WB has helped you grow; I've found the same for myself. 50/52 is extremely good! Best of luck to you in 2021 as well!

This is a fantastic outro track for weeklybeats!

Congratulations. 50 is definitely better than less than 10 and this song, among many others this year, is really good. Very nice sounds.
Happy New Year.
