Space Flight - Moog Grandmother Needs Tape Delay

By Aisjam on June 21, 2020 8:52 am

Now I love me some good analogue goodness, and I havent turned on my reel to reel for a while. Usually what i would do is have an external mixer setup to controll the R2R and create that tape delay. however since the Grandmother is semi modular, I challanged myself to "Patch it in". I went with a mono tape delay with no feedback, then layered a couple of other parts to make the tune.

Nice sounds, cool process. Maybe when I am older and have more money I'll have an analog synth or two as well. Cool ambiance.

Hey man I watched your weeklyvid and it blew me away! Great job. I especially liked when you dropped in that gritty analog synth groove with the tape at about 45s, caught me for the rest of the song.

Cheers Ngineer, the orange cable is taken from the filter output and fed into the tape machine and then the R2R output is been recorded. it creates a delayed gritty version signal and its pre envelope so its sounds like a different synth. 2 for 1 deal creating a really cool second sequence.
