Boom Bap Cat - Solo Volca Sample

By Aisjam on January 12, 2020 8:41 am

The carousel has spoken. This week ended up being a one synth challange with the volca sample. First thing was to get the sounds so I going around with my Zoom field recorder capturing different noises. Then I came across a cat which i recorded all happy as meowing and purring.

Next was folly in the studio to get supporting sounds. lastly going through my sample library. The idea was to make a cutsey track by hocketing the sounds, however that changed when i heard those drum samples... pitched everything down and made a mad bassline with the boom bap drums.

lastly i practice and explored with the set and seeing how i could transitions between the patterns. had lots of fun recording this track.
