SP Sauce

I did quite a few different things to create this beat, I'm just going to list it like a timeline here:
- wrote the drum loop on imaschine2 on my phone one day on the train ride home
- put that in my sp202
- found sounds for 11 more banks in the sp202. 1 being an additional kick to vary the pattern, a few being stuff i just recorded out loud
- played with the sp202 for a few days to try to come up with a beat with these
- put these sounds into my mpc1000
- played around with it to write the actual beat
- tweaked sequences for a few days
- bounced over to a tascam 4track porta studio
- bounced this version out of the porta studio

flaws: all the lofi hardware messed with my EQ which i liked up until the very last bounce in to the porta studio which I want to redo but due to time... it is what it is. hope you all enjoy and i included this as part of a beat tape which were all bounced in and out of the porta studio in the same fashion and all need better EQ smile - https://soundcloud.com/ahhsumx/sets/beat-tape-01

thanks for listening!

hey, I uploaded late this week but wanted to point you to the beat tape i put up on my soundcloud (linked in original description). I think/hope you'll dig it!

Hey, was really missing your track on monday. Glad you came out late with it. I can feel how you merged with the beat at home. A nice cassette-jam feeling. Just very simple and cool it is.
I used to have a SP202 years ago, hated the memory card, that never worked. Now I am happy with a SP404 and of course the MPC1000. But never had such a cool rhythms as yours. Need to improve on the MPC. Thanks for inspiration.

thank you for the kind words! i got my sp202 used and really don't trust the memory card, but the main banks seem to be mostly reliable. I guess the sp404 is the one that got it right or something. i hope to hear some MPC beats from you!
