Bridges

my goal this week was to write a melody that wasn't obviously melodious, and then to put a beat on it and somehow bring it together. i ended up spending the most time trying to just mix every thing in a way that i liked, and i feel like it could use some more work still, but from someone with more expertise than myself. i also thought at first this was going to be more of an "interlude" track to bring in the 2nd quarter of the year, but it ended up being more full sounding than i thought i was going to be able to make it. all in all, pretty pleased, and hope you enjoy!

process wise- this is mostly logic with virtual instruments; i'm really focusing on my mixing & mastering techniques. some samples made their way in of course, but hard to call out exactly in the mix of things aside from a snare & kick. as always, on to the next one.

It kind of starts like an interlude, but then it feels like "Act II" goes ahead and starts!  Nicely done.  Love the beat.

Very Trap-like... but in a good way!
with that rythm and melody you got that groove but with the selection of drum sounds it makes a nice difference to the standard 808 Kicks and triplet snares... if you know what i mean wink

I like the melody that's not obviously melodious, great idea to do that. Agree with other commenters here - picks up nice in Act 2, and kind of trap like beat, which is cool.

Really cool piano line bouncing around the hazy synth line.  Well done!

thank you! collecting drum samples is my favorite thing to do, so i'm glad you liked those. avoiding 808's is one of my other favorite past times big_smile

I think you've done a great job with the mix. Great clarity and sense of space.
