Analog Phatt

By ahhsumx on January 29, 2018 12:01 am

This year I've been really getting in to an analog flow and have started building a small rack of things. One of the first pieces I got is the Mo' Phatt, which is a synth type unit used in a ton of hip hop. I was exploring the sounds it provided this week, and used my MPC1000 to put this beat together. The only computer involvement was to record the final bounced version of the song on to one track, and save it down to this file. It's a little cheap & short as far as beats go, but I'm hoping to come up with some thing more creative next week. enjoy.

oh neat!

wow, sounding huge!

Somehow i missed this last week... what a shame.
Sound is great. The beat is a nice oldschool one .
Not exactly Eric B. but i think Rakim would have enjoyed this 30 years back... For real "paid in full" was released 1987 an was my first hiphop-album.

thanks! i wish i could go back to 1987 and work with those guys... but your compliment is the next best thing smile . i remember when i first started creating beats I thought that old school sound would be super easy to write, but i still rarely get it just right.

nice!
