101 Strings

By ahhsumx on January 28, 2018 5:44 pm

Got back on the MPC as soon as I posted last week to try to make sure this week went better. Well, outside of beat making it wasn't the greatest week (still recovering from a cold, got my car wrecked by some idiot kid...), but I picked up a bass guitar from a pawn shop (cheap!), and chopped up a 101 Strings orchestral vinyl, and played my DR-202 to put together this beat.

It's a much higher tempo than the last few I've been posted at 100bpm, and I feel like the ending is cut short a bit, but all in all quite satisfied with how this one came out. And it was actually a lot less sounds to manage than some of the other MPC beats I've made this year, which makes me feel like I'm getting in to a nice groove with working on the MPC. enjoy!

Getting a ton of static from the MPC.;)

I think you mean that in a good way smile, but I definitely don't do much clean up of static. it's how the record was when i found it, and i really like to maintain whatever state the samples were originally in when i chopped.

thanks! sorry about that logic one last week, hah tongue

Your loop organization is superb. Scatches add extra crunch. ::)

These loops are great. Would love to hear more development with such a juicy base.

Really nice! Dig that crunchy static-y sound. Good groove.

Thank you all for the kind words!

snagged

I was sold by the first 2 bars.
This is sick..! I'm head bobbin' like mad. I'm even gonna share it with a few friends, it's nothing but a great beat!

Oh btw. I came here from searching 'orchestral', thought I would get a smooth track with some strings and piano. And I encounter this.. I wasn't exactly sad about that wink
