I was supposed to get a flight back to the UK from once again visiting my fiancee, but the flight was cancelled when I got to the airport - something I’m pretty used to now. Had a couple more days to kill by myself while she was at work. Thought I may as well spend some time on my weekly beat! I went over some of my old doodles and found this chord progression on an abandoned section of a project. Copied and pasted the guitar into a new project, and the rest followed over the next few hours! It just happened to work at drum and bass tempo, so it’s a sort of indie dnb mashup again, which I like.

While I wasn’t particularly bothered by the cancelled flight, I wrote lyrics based on my mentality when things change that I’m not expecting - I have to talk myself out of a bad mood usually, or prepare myself for anything that might go wrong so it doesn’t shock me. I recorded these, and a ukulele tune in the flat.
