Eunice

This week I was feeling severely uninspired. Nothing was working and I also had to go away from home for the weekend, so I am away from my setup. I had to record something before I left to use for the weekly beat, so I recorded the drum beat and a couple of guitar chords and bass. Later when I had some free time, I worked on the processed drums - the J37 tape plugin with some slapback delay, which sound pretty cool to be fair.
I listened to a bit of David Bowie in the week, which is why I decided to put a delay on the snare and dampen it to get a tight sound.
I transposed the chords in different places to create a progression and then added a load of different synths to try and make a bit of an atmosphere.
What really ties it together is that we had a pretty bad windy storm in the UK this weekend (for some reason it is officially named "Eunice"), so I recorded the wind out the window and put it as a backing throughout the whole track. It adds to the sort of psychedelic mindlessness of the arrangement. I didn't think it was good when I made it but hearing it with fresh ears I'm pretty happy with it!
