Another Year Goes By

By Abludo on December 27, 2020 11:59 pm

Wow! I can't believe I've managed to finish a song every single week this year. Somehow, it's felt like an unproductive year in music for me, but I think that's because I forget that all this development took place this year. I've changed my style a lot. To finish off the year, I decided to make a reflective song about how time seems to go faster. I recorded and made it in about 5 hours today, right up till 30 seconds before the deadline in classic weekly beats fashion!

I wanted to use the tame impala/ indie influences I've been focusing on all year, with the compressed drums. I also wanted to include my 2020 music gear: a Uke Bass, lots of plugin purchases, and the arturia synth collection plugin.

Here are the lyrics:

I can't quite decide if I like the way I'm going
Will everything be alright? I can't deal with not knowing
Another year goes by, and it feels shorter than the last
And I wanna know why they have to go so fast

So slow down, please, I wanna take my time
So all my memories have a chance to stay in my mind
I can't get over the fact I have a plan
And that every day I get closer to living it first hand

lovely and chill.

Congratulations. There's always something to show in 52 weeks, even if it's just the sheer volume. This is something to be proud of however.

Happy New Year.
