Pretty much as titled. I just couldn't settle on anything this week, so I sort of just reverted to type and did two big chords with a staccato bass underneath and basically gave up there.
The only real positive of this session was that I came up with a new Digitakt technique (for me anyway - I'm sure this is probably a well established thing) for generating random rhythms, in part inspired by my brief period of M8 ownership.
Basically I just recorded in a chain of a few open and closed hi hat hits with some spaces (which the DT makes quite simple with predefined record lengths) then I use that sample with the "randomise slice" function to generate some grooves - stopping and editing when I like one. I guess it would work with melodic content too - I should give that a go next.
(dunno why I'm treating these descriptions like an audio diary in Fallout/Bioshock or something)
