A song about rebirth and moving forward //

I wanted to work on this after what happened last week - I actually started this project in 2016, and since then I would open it up every now and then and change something, so that over the years every part of this has been eventually replaced. I kind of like the symbolism of that, and I started working on this early in the week. Feels strange to be showing this ancient thing to people, I hope you enjoy!

Glad you did! Definitely enjoyed this one. Love the (whistling?) effect especially!

It work as it is now. I would be curious to hear the first draft too. You are always great with your pads and pianos.

I really, really like the vocal line in this track. smile

Thank you! Not sure if you're talking about what I'm thinking of, but that's one of the classic, staple breaks in the traditional dnb repertoire, EQ'd to bring out that part of the sample. Iirc it's a vocal of someone saying "woo" pitched up a lot, lol.

Haha I was wondering if someone would ask for this - behold, the wonder of my music making skills in 2016.

Thank you! I like it too, I was really lucky to stumble on it and spent ages trying to make it sound nice haha. I still think I could have processed it a little better but it's good enough for now!

I messed up the link - here you go.

Really enjoying the easy-listening vibe to this. A driving beat and plenty of nuances. Great stuff smile

Cheers heart Thanks for listening!

Awesome use of space as usual. Thanks for posting the link to the draft, it’s amazing how much you’ve improved over the years!

There's always something satisfying about finishing something off that's been sitting around for awhile.  I haven't done it yet this year, but have used past Weekly Beats as an opportunity to dust off some old unfinished ideas and doing something with them.  This has a nice airy feel and a joyful uplifting vibe that does bring to mind springtime renewal.

Got a really cool porter robinson feel from this track. The mixing is so nice. The vocal line is refreshing

Cool track with a great meaning. It is great when a track is more than the music and the story within it, but also the story outside. I'm glad I stumbled across this page.

Man you're really good at creating beautiful and relaxing soundscapes.  Great catchy tune

Something we can all relate to right? We all strive to be better, or simply move forward from certain situations. Thank you for that relaxing and uplifting 3 minutes and 49 seconds.

Haha thanks, some of the stuff I was doing back then is pretty hilarious now. Hopefully I can say the same about now in another four years!

Exactly, it's very comforting to accept that mistakes will always happen, but so will growth in the end. You're welcome haha, thanks a lot for listening heart

Damn, this is so cool.  The instrumentation could not be more perfect, all the synth tones and instruments sound so good together.  Great arrangement too, the break where the drums drop out is awesome.  Really breaks everything up.

Ahh thanks so much heart

Cool, I like the story on how this developed, always good to revisit stuff, add current influences to what you started back then.  Result is great, always enjoy listening to the lush and vibrant sounds you create.

i love the dreamy element when applied to drum and bass A++

Exactly, I like the idea of having a tune that I post each weeklybeats to show all the different changes over time. I should pick a 2018 tune and give it a go-over. Thanks a lot man, cheers for listening!
