Chiptunes and jungle = yes. The way you used reverb here sounds like somebody playing with a Gameboy in a hangar. Not a bad thing either!

I *think* you're referring to a hypersynth, with a table arp. Latest favourite move. Makes it sound like you've made 50,000 chipchunes, but it's one malleable and deliciously modulate-able instrument. If you have any hypersynth tips or tricks I'd love to absorb them sometime!

So far this year's weeklybeats I've been writing most tracks between midnight and 3am in sealed in ears on the couch. It's interesting how when I'm making something at a relatively low volume, I can fail to notice how extreme I've gone on some effects in particular. In this instance, I chose to leave it as it was. ha!
