Too bad about losing the file. It's always a pain. Nice dnb space race vibes

Good stuff!

Whoah! That deep bass really got my attention! Love it! Great sound design!

The time stretch on the vocals is absolutely essential for setting up a "time-era expectation" for the kind of production to expect. Awesome work.

Losing files is frustrating, but it is also good in many ways. clean slates, able to let go of a handful of half-baked things that were too good to delete and too average to bother finishing! Forced reminder that these things are fragile and that my creativity isn't *always* about finishing a thing for others to consume, but doing the thing. Idk, maybe I'm still super butthurt lol.

Thank you! I tend towards using samples, and lots of these sounds are heavily manipulated samples, often they come from the stuff Tim put on the device (some of the synth sounds are manipulated from his collection) and some other well trodden sample sources, there's also some synth instruments like that wubbing top line, that are mildly updated versions of the preset synths in the packs on the m8. Really appreciate the love, but also wanted to loop back that some of these cool sounds were not super difficult to come across, with the great tools that the device sets you up with as jump off points! I really envy those who can make memorable and interesting synth sounds from scratch each time they sit down, as that's not my forte! haha

The initial bass or the fluttering rolling bass type guy? The initial bass is the braids kick synth with a slow attack - starting to be my go to bassline!

since being reminded by @godinpants/@snottdog how to achieve time stretch on the M8, I've used it for literally every track since. Can't help it! I think as you say, it really helps set up the aural expectation for the rest of the production values.

That initial one is great! Thanks for the tip on that! I haven't tried experimenting with the braids kick synth much yet. I'll try it!
