banging on various resonant objects or something

By 0F on January 16, 2026 8:38 am

Week 3 and I've already run out of time lol. Been working on various code projects so don't have much to show musically. I have, however, been digging into the modal synth I've been developing in Max again, this time to try to make some kind of nanoloop/elektron style sequencer for it. Here's where I got to today before I ran out of steam - basically just sending it totally random parameters to test the parameter lock system I want to implement.

Er, enjoy? I promise to do something more musical next week tongue

Music to set your clocks to

This is some 2026 bing bong

haha, this came on randomly and I was sure it was you smile

Resonant banger 4 sure! Those low notes sure sound hectic... all the FM trickery goes on show ;-)

I liked the part where it went "dong". But seriously, that's some great exploration.

Aggressively head-bopping at my desk to this one hoping that a coworker asks for the track.

The sounds are really nice. Looking forward to hearing them in a track!

It's all additive! 16 resonators with variable spread and weight (ie. evenly spread up to the target freq, or on a curve towards either max or min). I'm surprised it worked so well!

This is pretty sweet, actually! Great sound and a cool experiment.

random clangin'

fun listen

mmmmmm yes resonance

This synth engine is a gem, these sounds really scratch the good bits of the brain.

Also lol the tags on this one, especially now that they've been alphabetically sorted.

The physical modeling is sounding goood.

Mysterious!

That feel when y'r Sega crashes and you actually don't mind
