Another M8 ambient track. I wouldn't call this one generative, but there are random elements.
I wanted to do this concept for a while, which is a chord changing so slowly it's hard to perceive. After I finished that, I added more subtle sounds I almost heard in the noise and added a deep sound inspired by gong harmonics. I hope the detail in this track is not too subtle.
It ended up sounding like some kind of heavenly orchestra tuning, which is where the name of this track comes from.
I started experimenting with Houdini for the track art this week. I ran into a bunch of problems just following a simple tutorial, but I was able to finish something in time.
On the M8 technical side, the chord is programmed using only tables. The entire instrument takes upwards of 6 minutes to loop once (but it plays at different offsets in two channels, so it loops twice over the course of the song). I will do a walkthrough of the track on YouTube when I have time.
