Snow-dusted Lilies

By wingedsouls on February 7, 2016 11:57 pm

I had a family Chinese New Year gathering yesterday, so I antisocially sat in the corner and made a short chiptune style track. It is intended to be evocative / be background music for a generic snowy Oriental style town in the mountains.

This probably isn't proper 8-bit as it was made with magical 8 bit plug VST, but later this year I intend to download Famitracker and explore that.

the main synth is a little harsh/loud but overall i generally like the melody in the first part. the  melody over the percs could be a little more interesting, but the percussion underneath sounds nice

Pretty cool! I preferred the first part without the beat. I dig the triangle bassline. Cool melody. I agree that the main synth line could be quieter, or maybe filtered a bit.

Awesome harmony, what's the chord progression?

I love this! Please give famitracker a shot - you won't regret it. And you'll have even more control over the effects.
