Neighbours

This is my first submission to weekly beats, I banged out this song in about 3 days because of spending so much time at work over the past week. Ok ok, I procrastinated a bit, but I really wanted to participate in this community. I've written a lot of songs before in the past but never this fast, and I also never have really gotten around to sharing many of them. I still need practice mixing and I'm a bit new to synthesized music. I guess it's supposed to be sort of like Progressive Rock with synths, I don't know, its been easier to write stuff by myself than getting a band together.
That being said, my good friend Jester lent me some help on some of the drum patterns in this song. Thanks dude!
All in all, this was a fun experience, it didn't give me a whole lot of time to over think the project I was working on and I felt like I had to finally bring something to completion so I could present it.

Thanks! I don't listen to much of mogwai myself, but I do understand they have somewhat of a cult following and probably for good reason. They're on my list of music to dig into someday

I haven't heard of Proswell before. I'll definitely look into it though, I've been looking for some new music. I suppose this track was influenced by some sort of jazz fusion and, weirdly, maybe a little Animal Crossing? Which is why I called it neighbours XD. To be honest, sometimes I either emulate artists I like or I do something where I have no context of what I was being influenced by and I think this song was mostly the latter. I was quite pleased with the intro because it has this attitude about it that I didn't know it would have while I was in the process of putting it together.
