Cheap Tricks Percussion Suite
By vinpous on May 13, 2012 3:08 amHooray for more copout pieces of laziness and lack of time. This is some sounds I recorded with various mallets and sticks on outdoor objects, using the Ardour DAW (which I have concluded quite sucks) and the effects units included therein.
The reason I got Ardour (I paid a dollar for it, and am glad I didn't pay more), was for a kind of ProToolsish thing with easier editing than Logic. Unfortunately, I was wrong, and it seems that one day I will simply need to buy ProTools. Le sigh.
Couple of hours work, lots of crashes c/o Ardour. Winner.
Also, I'm (not so) surprisingly bad at hitting things with sticks. I need to embrace my inner cave man.

Yeah, but it sucks for many other things. 
Why can't we have one piece of software that is good at everything?... Sigh.
Exactly right, sir. I think ProTools is certainly heading that way, from what I hear.
This sounds like it was fun to record! (Is that "le sigh" a yogscast reference? If so it makes me happy

STICKS? this sounds like table tennis - or ping pong - never can remember the difference
You paid for Ardour? You know it's Free Software right?
I personally love Ardour and hate Pro Tools 
Jiff: It was free once upon a time, and on OSX the free version comes gimped.
PWR: it was a lot of fun, but alas, le sigh is not a reference to that. I hope you are not sad.

Reaper is pretty awesome for editing audio.
