Piggy Got Swagger

By Tweaklab on February 16, 2014 9:59 am

So this week I decided to try something totally different by installing Little Piggy Tracker onto my PSP Go and loading up a few dozen samples from my Reason library.

I'm quite impressed with the result and am honestly stoked at the fact that I can now write my weeklybeats on the couch or in bed without being restricted to chiptune (as much as I'd like to get better at that too!)

Having said that, it is amazingly easy to go from LSDJ to Little Piggy Tracker, and it's a refreshing change (not saying better) to be able to load up any sample you like into 8 channels rather than 4.

The tune itself is quite a journey and starts off with some half time reggae which then goes into some 140bpm breaks which then goes into some psy trance which then goes back to reggae which then goes into a 3/4 time psy trance / dubstep / reggae section complete with a bunch of downsampling along the way. Definately feels like more of a showcase of potential that I could be looking at by investing more time in Little Piggy which I'm sure I will end up doing due to the convenience of having my sound library (at least the bulk of the good stuff) from my PC in my pocket!

So much pig!!  It's a great tracker mate - esp coz you can apply your LSDJ skills. :-)  Fantastic effort for first piggy times!!
