The Deck

Another week where I only had an hour or two...! I went to an opera in an outdoor amphitheatre yesterday, and determined to bring some inspiration home to get me through this week I took along my MicroTrack II and grabbed a few samples to play around with. This weird little track is the result!

great work. like a lot. want an extended version.

Sub Delay, this is rich! I love the dramatic build and the sweet production. What all did you sample from the opera? Fav'd!

Thanks so much cfurrow!!

As for the samples, although I did record longer bits I ended up using only very short snippets that I messed around with. Most of the parts you hear in the track are based on samples, in fact I think only the rhodes part and the synth at the end aren't from the opera smile The applause at the beginning is the actual sound of the audience and the glitchy/noisy stuff is the sound of me plugging the microphone in at the beginning, heh.

The opera was "Il trovatore" by the way, lots of tragedy and revenge in that one!
