Week23 - Land Escaper

By Stefano D'Alessio on June 8, 2014 1:57 pm

Land Escaper is a piece that explores different uses of digital as sound source and sound manipulator. The track travels from ambient to rhythmic material through a continuous fading of different parts.
The track has been entirely created in two days (2 - 3 June 2014).
Sounds made in Reaktor.
Composed in Logic.

Enjoyable as always.  Some great sections in here!  The three quarter mark onwards is sweet as.  When you say 'digital' are you just meaning digital synthesis or digital noise (em interference, etc)

once the rythmic element kicks in , it really sucked me in. Very Confrontational.

@rdomain
as digital i mean synthesis, i just got NI reaktor [really satisfying purchase... not the physical pleasure of your modular i guess smile but tons of possibilities and quickly achievable] and i wanted to explore its possibilities without having a fixed idea or path to follow. The result was different material, born from different type of complex digital synthesis and sound processing. Then i selected, cut and modified the material to make it more homogeneous.

Beautiful journey. Disturbing territory at times, but you lead us through the swamp.

I find it difficult to paint such landscapes without resorting to melodies, so I admire this.
