Waltz for Waldo

By roboctopus on February 22, 2016 12:01 am

I wanted to try writing 3/4 time in LSDJ because I don't normally do that, so I wrote a short little ditty. Some of the chords are fun. Some 9ths in there I guess.

It's just a loop currently. Nothing fancy. I added some reverb and flanging.

OOOOh super cheerful. It makes me think of a grassy field with people picking flowers.

I love a good old short ditty!!  Defs 3/4.  And that flange... hehehe.  I like the bass in this one.  How did you get the drums so clean?  SP?  DMG-01?  Emulated?

Hey thanks! I used the BGB emulator for this one and exported the channels separately, which is sort of why the samples sound cleaner. The kit is also a custom kit I made, and frankly, the drums are louder and cleaner than the stock kits. I also added a table to the kit with a K command down the line to prevent the trail-off noise as the drum hits fade.

It sounds pretty close to this on a DMG--just a smidge noiser haha. The SP sounds pretty much exactly like this.
