Very nice sparse piano and bass.  Some surprising melodic directions!

Thanks. Lately, I've been a bit more experimental with my choices - letting them go where they will.

Really like this. Any specific method for sequencing? Sounds very modern jazz influenced, is that correct?

Thanks.
When I approach composing for WeeklyBeats, I usually start with a melodic shape or contour. From there, I try picking rhythms that are asymmetrical or some other pattern that blurs the bar lines. Then I use that as a motive and expand the idea across the instruments and sections.
As for the modern jazz feel, I didn't necessarily use the style for influence; however, this combination of instruments (which are like a jazz combo) makes for a nice balanced ensemble - melody, harmony, bass, etc.
