Prototype

New toy: Protoverb, a fun (and free) experimental reverb from U-He. This track is based on a recording of a ferry leaving the dock, a track of virtual piano, and not much else. (The whirring sound is a separate sample, though.)

And reverb, lots of reverb.

Excellent! I downloaded Protoverb as well (who can pass up free); sounds like you've gotten a lot further with it than I have.

+1 Protoverb, I have it on my desktop waiting to be installed... Gonna have to get on it, right? You do a great job with it, beautiful!

Beautiful piece!  Great atmosphere and use of space.  I almost used Protoverb in week 1, but it was claiming too many cpu cycles in that one.  Still on the radar--it's a compelling plugin.

Planes and trains are two of my favourite things. This track is a third. So atmospheric.

I should give Protoverb a go. Neat lofi atmosphere here... very cinematic

All the noise and verb adds a good layer of darkness to the lovely piano.  Good stuff.

Thanks guys!

As of now I think Protoverb lends itself best to more or less experimental reverb use given that the user interface invites randomness as a sound design strategy, but it will be very interesting to see how they are going to use the crowdsourcing input they get from the free version. It sounds like it's got quite a powerful reverb engine under the hood.
