Cyclic Movements

By Plantrain on December 14, 2014 10:19 pm

A looser more improvisational feel this week, this might very well be my first track of the year not done with a steady tempo throughout, instead changing the beat to fit the various drones that I recorded first.
The aforementioned drones, a singing bowl, acoustic drums and a bit of Pianoteq piano. Everything but the piano part is improvised, but I have done some editing to make it into a more coherent whole.
Wow, 50 tracks so far, only two more to go. I think I am going to have Weekly Beats withdrawal symptoms come 2015.

I like the tension created by the distorted sounding backing track.  It contrasts nicely with the more laid back piano part.

Excellent use of drones against the piano.  There's a great huge-humming-machine feel to this one.

Thank you so much for your kind comments, didn't have much time to listen other's tracks this week, but will make time to listen this coming week!
