Cloud Tetris

Disaster struck this week when I spilled a green smoothie over my macbook pro... It was beyond sad... I didn't really know what to do... but then... just when I thought it was all over I had a brain waive and acted upon it...

I uncovered my old production pc from when I was 15years old or something... I had an amazing experience! Listening to some of my old tunes that had been lost to time, looking at old photos and things that I should have really backed up... just putting the computer and sound card together made me feel like an archeologist or something.... finding treasures in the depths of time...

anyway - I got the thing on, to my utter amazement, it worked! So I got to producing on cubase and fruity loops... oldschool vibes... really epic... like discovering yourself from 10 years ago or something...

I couldn't actually complete a tune because I got the blue screen of death (ah... memories smile and I remembered why I had to upgrade to a new computer... but the experience just showed me how far I had actually come... and how far I still have to go if I really wanna produce the type of sound that I have been working towards for the last 10 years...

so... even in the midst of chaos I feel like I am learning and evolving... and that it was a good experience to get a glimpse of my former self... ( epic hair photos, pictures of mansions, and parties, and girls making out with each other, and love letters from girlfriends... and pics of friends who have passed on.... man... I feel really warm and fuzzy about the whole thing....)

anyway here is a track from the NOiZE TANK computer.... I've called it cloud tetris after and experience me and my friend had lying in the park staring up at clouds and realising that their free floating forms had taken on the shapes of huge cubes in the sky and that they were playing tetris....

if anyone has any suggestions about what I could do to produce next weeks beat if my laptop isn't fixed then hit me up...

hope y'all had epic weeks

smile

Hmm, more pareidolia. Subtle yet effective.

No computer? Do you play an instrument?

Nice story and a good track out of it!

Sentimental vibe, the bright timbres bring evoke those idealistic 'warm memories'. Love the story behind hit. I can really see where the sentiment comes from.
