One Up Two Down

By mysterioso on August 14, 2016 5:29 pm

This is the first proper metal track I've recorded so far. A wee bit of a boogie during which I discovered the guitar I originally recorded it with had terrible intonation, so I had to rerecord the entire thing. I wish now I'd tuned down to D or C rather than using concert pitch.

A notable takeaway from this week's song - it's much better to record your guide guitar parts, then program the drums, and only then record your final guitar tracks.
As a result of not having the time to re-record the guitar parts (again...), my drum parts had to match my sloppy on-the-click-around-the-click playing and the whole piece suffers as a consequence of being unable to tighten the quantising.
Lesson learned.

Rock on! There are def not enough metal tracks on here smile

I apologize for the seizure inducing gif, it didn't look that offensive in the preview yikes eeek!

I fully appreciate both these gifs!!

I do believe, however, that folks skip songs tagged as rock or metal. Metallers are people too!!
