Leap Year, I Can Fly!

By miraclemiles on March 27, 2016 9:14 pm

This is a new creation using some of the guitar parts from the session I used in my week 3 submission "Afro Dolce." I love these guitar parts, and want to make a bunch of songs with them. I played a take of live drums (recorded with two mics), and a take each of live djembe and bongos. Added a few tracks of midi drums to assist. Arranging at the dining room table as I usually do, grabbed the 7 year old son, put the headphones on him an said "sing." He sang "blah blah blah, I can fly" ... so there it was. It sounds kinds like "leap year" though, so went with that for title. Auto-chopped his voice into Simpler, and he tapped out a little part on the Push, told me which 4 bars to keep, how much of the effects to add and it appears briefly a few times. Last minute grabbed the other vocal sample from creative commons site, credit at end.

Oh man - it's so happy I love it smile.

Out-happies all other happies. Nice.

Love the percussion, and awesome to read you recorded them yourself. Vocal sample is so cute!

This could be in Beyond Good&Evil.

Love the drums, awesome that you got your son involved, I've been thinking of using some vocals of my daughter rapping wu-tang lyrics from when she was 2

Thanks! Banging on those drums was fun ... need to do it more often. Spend more time finger drumming on pads now sad
