Counting By Fours

Started with live jam with collaborator playing keys and guitar and recording in his Live session. Finally hooked our computers together with midi to sync clocks. I played on my Push - drum parts, some keys, and tracked a coupe silly vocal takes of "counting". This week added some more bits, the middle bridge section and arranged this week. While arranging, my seven year old son came up to the Push and played the little riff that's in the intro and outro. I tweaked timing a little, doubled onto a Rhodes instrument and kept it in.
Still trying new things for final mixing - have some more side chaining going on here, I think I like it. Using the Vulf compressor again, Ableton EQ Eight and limiter. I think I'm digging the mix so far, more experimentation to come no doubt.

7 year old is KILLING IT!  smile  nice job all -  i like the downtempo feel

Very compelling--great propulsion and variation, and it's cool that you got your kid in on it, too.

Thanks! It's been super fun to try and get kids involved in music. The Push makes it pretty easy for them to learn.
