Second Wind

So this week I had planned to do a bit more work with my Volcas, but I ended up getting sidetracked by Reaktor 6 (which I upgraded to as soon as it was released, but never got round to using). I finally ended up getting my head around building a custom synth from scratch (using the awesome new Blocks functionality), so ended up making my own sequenced synth with lots of LFOs (and a built in sequencer) to keep the sound evolving and interesting.

There's two channels on this project - one is my custom Reaktor synth doing its thing, the other is some drums and percussion from the Korg Volca Sample (which really is a fast and intuitive way to get a drum track going). A light bit of compression and EQ in Ableton, and that it.

Really enjoyed putting this together - hope you get a kick out of listening to it as well! And thanks for all the lovely comments on last week's track. It's good to be back!

I've had the Volca Sample for a couple of months, with no time to load new stuff on it. This one's really inspiring, after I see how you manage to get that fat and solid sound from such a sparse setup (hardware speaking).

I'm sure this one will work really well in a club context smile

Straight up cool. Great stuff!

Lately I've been playing quite some electro (Fantasy Records, Frustrated Funk, ...) I would totally put this one in my mixes. Like it a lot!
