Little Steps

So this week I took the plunge and bought an Ableton Push 2. First impressions are that this is an amazing new way of working with Live, and in many cases much quicker and more spontaneous than using the trackpad or mapping a third-party controller. But the best bit is the step sequencer, which is so much fun - will be interesting to see how this ends up playing out with my Volca workflow, considering how superior the step sequencer is on the Push.

Also enjoyable is programming patches with Operator, which is quick and fluid - so here's a little jam I made with a few instances of Operator, the step sequencer and some general pad mashing. It's quite basic while I still get to grips with the hardware, but I really enjoyed making this and there'll definitely be more to follow.

Very nice sounds from the synthesized Operator voices, and a bubbly, bouncy feel.

Happy dance: very well done ::)
