Heavy Weather

This started life as a sloppy Volca jam (Bass, Keys and Sample) where I was experimenting with halving tempos to double the pattern length. BUT then I downloaded the new iPad app AUM Mixer, which as far as I can ascertain does absolutely everything - mixing, sends, multitrack recording, Inter-app Audio hosting, Ableton Link... absolutely mindboggling.

So this was recorded in one take, no edits, analog sync, with the three Volca units recording directly into the iPad, spiced up with the AUFX effects apps and AUM's built in EQ. Then I bounced out the stems (via Audioshare) to Ableton, where they got a little more polish.

AUM changes everything I think... Already got loads of ideas for how I can build an iPad and Volca live performance rig around this thing. Well worth checking out.

very chill vibe and I am always experimenting with the various iOS apps for sounds/recording/mixing so thanks for introducing me to another one!

very very like this track. it's smooth, nicely mixed, has great sounds. just great... keep up man.

The bass is so solid in this. At the proper volume, my table resonates smile

Minimalist approach and sparse melodies, yet you get a pretty dense atmosphere. Really relaxing as "winter music".

Thanks for noting that app... I've been wanting to build a similar setup for both composing and performing (sort of) but never got my head around the different iOS apps. Your work inspires my to give it another go.

You have the Bass, Keys and Sample?!  Nice!  Diggin' the swing edge to this one :-)
