Get Me Going

I hope everyone enjoys this a bit more than my past few submissions. A fun jam. I will likely add more lyrics and maybe a guitar solo, or maybe a wav channel saxophone solo smile I do feel it is a bit busy and might simplify a bit, I mean, you can't even really hear what the pulse channels are doing.

Also, I feel like the lack of professionalism in my recordings is holding me back a bit, so any tips on how to make my music sound more commercial, professional, whatever, I'd really appreciate it. I basically record stuff straight into the 2008 edition of garage band (which may be my problem right there), try to even out the levels, add a little EQ, maybe do some widening and doubling techniques, and then export it. I feel like I'm probably missing a few steps, maybe some compression, normalization, something like that. I'm no expert, so thank you for sharing your expertise.

Lyrics

You get me going like a motor full of gas
Turn the key, hit the pedal and go full blast
You get me going.

You get me going like a rocket to the moon
Feel the engine, see the smoke and hear the boom
You get me going.

Seriously fun tune man! I love the minor bridge part - it's so edgy - and the general busy-ness everything works very well to my ears right now smile
Have you heard this album by any chance? I feel like you might enjoy it - defintely kindred spirits while still having your own unique styles!

Yeah, this is a fun track! I like the mix of lsdj and those synth sounds.

As far as recording quality, I don't know much about garage band, but I use Reaper and it works well for me.

You're like an 8 bit-ier Dan Deacon.

Thanks for sharing, I hadn't heard them before but they're awesome.

I really like the LSDJ/Synth combo as well, I think the synth will be a permanent addition to my setup going forward. Sometimes it blends a little too well, I'd like the full texture of the synth to shine through.

As far as I can tell that's their only release. The world needs more of this magic - keep it up! wink
