I'm afraid this came out pretty boring sad

Been helping a friend this week with his move, so not much time for music planning.

Got some Eurorack phrases warped and built some loops, and built a pretty thick drone atmosphere. I was almost happy but thought about giving it more "life" so I messed up with some beats for a sluggish quasi-techno vibe... Long story short, this became a glitchy and somewhat noisy track which tries over and over to create interest using plain modulation (It is easier to write some envelopes than good melodies).

Recorded and finished with Ableton in nearly 3 hours... Too sleepy to post pictures now. Please check later

Peace and have a great week! Hope my release will be better next time smile

Definitely not techno but quite enjoyable though. smile

And definitely not boring; just the opposite. smile)

I'm curious as to why you find the piece boring, because I find it really enjoyable! Great sounds, great modulation and a nice flow to the track. smile

I agree wto. Not boring
Excellent Track!

Thank you all guys for listening and commenting!

Thanks, FXtion! I'm afraid I'm stuck in the mid-tempo region, son no true techno yet smile

Much appreciated, Jim. I wasn't very happy about this one. Glad you find it interesting enough

Kind of an industrial techno sound, I like how it almost sounds like you are listening to the music through the floor from a neighbours apartment

Thanks for the kind words, Martin. The whole "4 to the floor" thing was an afterthought, because the piece came out as a heavy ambient drone which for me got very stagnat. Maybe with fresh ears I'll appreciate it more.

Thanks m2k7. Now that I hear it again it sounds more interesting, although the mood of the track is completely different from the original intention.

Glad you liked it

Oh, yeah, That's the "abuse" of the low pass filter applied to the whole mix right before mastering. It was a radical move but I thought it could give the track a little more interest

Thanks for listening and commenting, Jason

I know that feeling too well lately, but the good thing is your peers find the positives in what you release smile
I like that the beat was added and even moreso the "abused" filter gives it a nice morphing gelatinous feel.  Like the beat is oozing out of my ears smile
Keep on pushing!!! smile

yeah, haven't had time myself either, lately. That being said: this is not boring at all. I am really enjoying this piece. smile

Thanks Eric!!! Yes, sometimes I think we all feel like "who's gonna want to listen to this crap I made"... Beauty of WB is that for the better or worse, we're forced to release stuff "no matter what" and fight that inner critic voice inside of us smile

Mind if I borrow "gelatinous feel" as a future song title smile

I hear you, man! I've been really lost these late weeks trying to catch up with all the WB excellent music (and comments)
