moving forward

had a lot of half-hearted ideas this week, couldn't seem to finish anything... eventually with 24h i came up with this progression and then just soloed like crazy. kinda lacking some of the finer details (especially because i have to run now and can't keep fixing it up) but i think the solos are super fun! just because the mix prob doesn't accentuate it very well, i really liked the one at 2:35.

P.S. i failed to include guitar this week :X i cut my nails cuz im dumb and playing the guitar sounds really muted all the time lol

NOTE

I have massively (!) improved this song (post weeklybeats) HERE

I knew from the first five seconds that I needed to strap myself in for a ride with this one! Reminiscent of so many 'cracked by'-style intros on my beloved collection of Amiga 500 games - that lovely tender intro exploding into a rousing anthem! The solos are exquisite - full of subtle little expressive touches smile

Brilliant work dude, absolutely love the mix on this one and the synth lead just bouncing between both my ears, mixed with the punchy bass is like I'm being sent on a trippy jog through an old Sega favourite...

By the way, would love to know the piano being used at the intro?

Cool song, there was a middle bit with the piano which seemed a bit odd but apart from that really organic and cool!

Hahaha you caught me. This was supposed to be acoustic guitar and I was really close to doing it, but at the last minute I realized that it wasn't going to work at all and replaced it.

Oops I missed this question because it's in quotes! The piano is The Giant by Massive Instruments. It's pretty much amazing, definitely the best piano VST I've used. That and Zebra2 are the two commercial VSTs I use. In fact, this song is all Zebra2 except one instance of Operator (an ableton builtin synth).

Great intro, sounds really fresh. Lovely mood and vibe! Great job smile

cool tune . good synth, nice melody

damn, i'm playing catchup this week on tracks I missed and I'm glad I got to hear this one!  The piano melody is great and those synth lines are even better!  I could def play a sidescroller with this as the soundtrack smile  nice job!
