FunkySkunk

By Ipaghost on March 27, 2016 11:54 pm

Just got some new toys, like the Korg Monotron Delay and Launchpad Mini, so decided to do a "live" set. Still need to figure out how to use the Launchpad better with FL. First time I sent Aux to hardware, and using OP-1 as an effect, that was fun! Would like to get more weird fx to mess with.

Man, this one has me feeling a lot of weird things. Too bad I'm going to go ahead and explain them. I feel like I'm communicating with me in the year 2001, but it's twenty years from now and I haven't aged a day.

Great melodic movement, textures ::)

I'll play it for our neighborhood skunks later this evening, see what they think.

Yeah, I totally get it...

Please do!

Great track, super funky, and I love that you did a live take. Awesome job! big_smile

So you also deliver live, man, huh?... Dope as usual. Cozy studio, and it seems you still rock the UC-33 smile

Cool mousepad, BTW

Damn, son! That crunchy bass sound felt like it was rearranging my bones!

And based on the sounds you were getting out of that Monotron, I'd say it was a very worthwhile purchase.

So funky! Haven't yet got around to messing with FL in live mode, looks fun though!

I totally remember the first time I met you in person at the very first Tacoskull party, you had the UC-33. I think you played right after I did. Good memories! So rad you still are using that.

thanks for showing us your process!  although i still have no idea what is going on!  amazing sounds.

......LOL YOUR MOUSEPAD.

Wunderbar!

Is it a banger? Yes. Yes it is. Nice

I like your how your arpeggio goes up 5, then 5, then 6. Adds a cool rhythm

I usually only do live stuff for shows, because I can't do as super crazy arrangements yet... glad you like the mouse pad!

The monotron was a fun gift! The delay is very noisy though, so I had to run it through a noise gate, a noise filter worked very well, but was too slow to be useful in real time, so there really is very little point in using it that way. My dream would be to live above a cave, or in a building with an elevator shaft so I could run real time reverb through them... one day!

yeah, that's the first time I messed with FL live mode, minutes before the deadline! lol
Ok, everyone that is surprised that i'm still using the uc33 is making me feel old now.

Great result using tools you just got, serious funk!

Love that funked out wah-guitar lick.  It was cool seeing your setup too.  That is one inspiring mousepad lol!

Awesomely funky, super-crunchy, and ultra-badass. Outstanding.

Um… sorry to report, they just backed off a few feet, then returned and resumed munching on the seeds & nuts we put out for them. No taste whatsoever.

Hahaha... yeah man.  Diggin' that crushed sound.  Good live jam - cheers for going to the effort of making a video!  (Fun fact about the monotron delay, you can adapt it to make a musical drinking glass!)
