a minimal, downtempo journey. instrumental improvisations and scattered beats. piano, NES, C64, ardour, renoise.

love the minimal feel of the beat. your piano sounds are always excellent - is that a reverse delay from the strymon, or some mixing magic?

thanks, man! the swells are just the piano bass notes reversed in ardour. there are a few subtle points of delay: i chopped some of the sus4 chords to shorter intervals, and dropped them in at the end of the reverse swells, running through the basic Apple Delay AU. since i stuck with ardour, there's no FX at all besides that single delay. (if i'd tracked this whole thing in renoise, instead of just using it for sample prep, i woulda done more with verbs and delays.) i plan to start using my outboard FX and synths in future projects!

Moody! I can hear this on a Michael Mann soundtrack! Really like the vibe!

thank you so much! i do go for the moody, image-filled sounds. figuring out how to marry them to beats is always challenging, but i hope to do more!
