brightmorning, little birds

By ioflow on September 4, 2016 9:40 pm

ambient collage. piano, modular, monome, brushes, sticks, surfaces, effects, and field recordings. sociable weavers gathering grasses. communal nestbuilding amid dappled shadows.

each layer was recorded separately, in one take, without listening to or looking at any of the others. only once the field recordings were in place did i listen to the piece as a whole. i've really enjoyed working with this "blind" process. so many surprising things happen, such as identical timing for certain notes from the modular and the piano. the way a bird cheep or a quick brushstroke against the wood surface will emphasize a quiet moment.

blind recording sounds cool!  this type of music would lend itself to a lot of happy accidents.  those birds were pretty active at moments!

As always beauty
