experimental beat. no quantization. made entirely with hardware. first song created with my mpc1000. since i'm still learning how to use this thing, i kept it simple. (and i started just a couple of hours before the deadline.) i sampled my juno 106 synth running through strymon delay & reverb effects, some claps i recorded awhile back, and the 808/NES percussion from one of my previous WBs. no processing; the computer was used only for recording and uploading.

awesome! much more complete than anything i ever made on my MPC, haha.

thanks, man! in spite of how many elements i felt were missing (i forgot to record my bassline!), compared to an all-up DAW production with hours of micro-editing, reversing, finessing elements just so...i'm surprised and pleased that it's not completely terrible. the drums, in particular, sound more "complete" than i expected. especially since i didn't have my usual software environment for layout and resampling tricks. hopefully i will do a more detailed MPC track soon!

This came on while I was filling out some forms elsewhere and it just hit the spot. Thanks!

thank you, and thanks for listening!
