Week 18 - Not the Return of Gabber

This is what happens when you for some reason decide to make a Gabber track.

Everything starts ok but I quickly realised that it didn't sound like Gabber.....a good thing in hindsight, but the joy was quickly overlooked as it began to take a happy hardcore kind of vibe.  This annoyed me somewhat and the track thankfully took a slightly angrier and maybe a disappointed tone to it.

At this point I realised I'd spent all my weekly beats time chasing genres I hadn't listened to for 20 years.....

Enjoy smile

Usual stuff, OP-1, 303 etc all mixed in Cubase

Interesting how, like you say, the track doesn't really settle on one mood.  smile

"chasing genres I hadn't listened to for 20 years…." HAHA!!! Yeah, that's about the last time I listed to gabba/gabber…

This, whatever the sub-sub-category, is great fun.

Nice idmhouse, I like how the kick sounds like it has been recorded from a headphone output, lacking any substantial bass/sub component you would associate with teh gabber smile

Nice one smile - i was in the overdriven 909 kick zone for a while and ended up eqing it back to add in the other elements as i went along.  I've still got my Mokum and D-Jax 12's so i should get listening and have another go smile
