Orbital Dreams

Totally ran out of time on this one! I was really looking forward to doing a solid track for Weekly Beats this week, but oh well. There's always next week.

I ran with the same buses and a lot of the same sounds as last week. I realized the mid/high bands of the drums were way low in last week's track so this week's beat should sound a lot brighter. Left in some sloppy dissonant parts but whatevs... enjoy!

Tone Matrix

oh i love the beats and how they mix with that mid-range 'canada' synth. The grimy bass adds a nice touch as well. Really suhweet track!

Yeah... Some Boards Of Canada melodies over a killer beat. Really good. I love the tremolo on the keys. Gives some kind of old / creepy feeling.

I discovered, watching some techno producers, that sometimes is better to kill all frequencies below your bass drum sweet spot (let's say, for some sounds like yours, 102 hz - 85 hz). Drums get snappier, the whole track gets clearer. They call that "don't waste the bass energy"... In my experience, you could even cut in 65 hz, but depends highly of the specs of the high pass filter.
