Nebulous Peril - Inner Turmoil

By george bowles on April 1, 2012 4:52 pm

a blackened death grind track for a tumultuous time. I recorded the drums first, then two guitar tracks, then a bass track. mixed down on the computer, then added some ezdrummer fast double bass drum stuff because my recording capabilities were not very good for recording drums (ended up at 242 bpm). everything else is live though. was going to do keyboards but ended up feeling that there was enough going on to skip that, or maybe just got lazy. did the vocals this morning on sunday over a cup of coffee.

Total chaos!  Good stuff.  It reminds me of a more primitive version of Portal.  If you haven't heard them before, check em out.  Very cool.  They create this hellish atmosphere.  Excellent effect live.

WTF did you put in your coffee?  I want some of that!  Your drums are also insane.  Win.

Yes, yes, yes! Push the envelope! Great effort

thanks for the comments! yep have heard portal, thanks for the comparison! I think they are a little more abstract but I could see the more primitive thing. on that note, have you heard Antedeluvian? super primitive death metal

btw, this piece was basically an endurance piece... wanted to see how long I could play at near top speeds. came in at around 3 minutes
