Well said, an0va...it *can* be done and maybe the results won't always be perfect but several times out of 52 you will be pleased and surprised. In 2k12 it speeded up my workflow so much that I managed to put out other stuff during the week for competitions and such (and won)...wb is totally good for you smile

Sinewave, agree.  This is all about improving workflow and hopefully this translates to better music in areas I've never written prior.  There will be a number of clunkers yet I'm going to say at the end of the year I'll have fragments, keepers and few that just require a little extra tweak to make the don't usable by me.

Also I'm on lunch break sitting in the sun working on lyrics. smile. No time to waste!

I have no family OR pets and I still never seem to find time (Ive skipped the last 2 weeks, ugh!).
I'd happily have a partner who worked as hard on music in spare time as I do (or more so) - have done so before in fact! Never bothered me a bit smile

Music/sound/research is my day job, and my partner's. Works out pretty solidly.

Be a high school student and never get homework. This strategy works quite well for me, and I highly recommend to all WB'ers who own time machines.

No kids, just a lovely patient/thoughtful/intelligent partner who's also an artist.  The only issue is that during the past year we moved into a smallish place which means we're sharing a studio/study space*, which can get a little hard to work with when I want to pull things out into the space and there's delicately placed cutout collages from old National Geographics all over the floor. wink

* I'll upload some photos to the gear porn thread once I tidy the space up a bit.  Though the intense summer in Adelaide at the moment is making it difficult to do anything like this in the immediate future. sad

I found one possible solution this week - it may not be for everyone though.

No kids. But a girlfriend and full time work. My girlfriend and I have a pact that I am given a certain time every week where I am allowed to ignore world+her for a few hours.
After that it is up to me to squeeze in 20 mins here and there.

We've got the advantage that we're with two guys, and got quite some experience in cooperating songs with little time. So one of us just starts and the other continues and so forth. This way we can finish tracks pretty fast and with not that much amount of time. I make music in between 'things' so after diner, or on my day off.
