If you uploaded a track for a specific week, and either you messed up and forgot to actually submit the form, or the server exploded and for some reason the song is gone... Please post here and we'll try to get you a private link to re-upload it for the given week. Be sure to tell us what week # was messed up in your post!

Also, this does not include users who's song was deleted due to copyright issues or whatever else.

Example:

Hey something messed up on my Week 10, Song name: Blah blah beats.
Thanks!

The title was HIGHWAY 86 SUNSET, and that was the filename... so I guess not. Man, I wish I knew what I did wrong with it.

Try reuploading again using this private link (it should only work with you, for week 13) It will expire after 2 days.

Sorry if I'm sounding dickish, forgot to add the happyfaces and winks. wink smile

Might be UI design error. It appears the temp file is there, as if the upload was successful, but there is no record and the file has not been processed, as if you didn't click the final submit button. I should change the text when the upload is finished to "Upload complete, Please click submit blah blah blah" smile
Meanwhile I'll create a way for you to re-upload that track.

But the result of changing filenames is even more inconsistency, for example in my case or Bleo's.
I don't understand why is it that they need to be changed, though. What does it matter?

Seriously? It matters because people upload files called "Untitled.mp3" just because you are picky about naming your files consistently does not mean the rest of the world does as well. It matters to me because on the server end, it's nice to know what files belong to what, furthermore it matters because of things like the podcast feed to iTunes / readers.

Should be fixed now. I noticed it before site launch but figured it was chrome being lame, some of the amazon s3 features I just used are new and a bit tricky to get right.

Because you suck and have no patience.

No, we have to change the file names, end of story. You can thank inconsistency, lack of standard, and users choosing really bad file names for that.

Server maintenance will occur durring these hours:

Start: Friday, March 30, 2012 5:00am EDT
End: Friday, March 30, 2012 7:00am EDT

We are expected to have intermittent MYSQL connection issues durring these hours while they perform a upgrade.
cool

Current setup for me.

The files used in the playback are the exact ones you upload. if you are using something like itunes to preview a track be aware that programs like that have a "sound enhancer" option that is checked by default.

How are the tracks listed each week? Is it random?

This order today is different for me than it was yesterday.

With so many submissions this makes it difficult to listen to and appraise all the submissions and it's easy to overlook some.

Maybe can we have some kind of sort option?

You can sort by click on any of the blue heading titles at the top of the list. You can also filter the results using the drop down to only show songs that you have not listened to or viewed. The blue play button to the left of each item indicates that you havnt heard the song yet, if its grey it means the mp3 player has played it. The sort order by default is by activity and randomness.

You can also grab all of the mp3s via a podcast reader. From link of the big box at the top of every page, incase no one knows.
