For now please keep adding instances where songs haven't appeared properly in this thread, the file name is a big help and any details around when it was uploaded so we can try and figure out why they aren't going up, it will probably also prove useful when Trash80 has some time to devote to the site to get these uploaded.
At this point, it's probably going to be a pain in the ass. Maybe go with the username on the file and/or in the tags for now, and when there is work done on the site maybe it's something that can be looked into further
Can you not go to 'Profile' and then in the sub menu that comes up, 'Identity' to change this?
board games should come with cds
Some do, Last Night on Earth comes with an appropriately zombie themed soundtrack iirc (dot.AY can you confirm?)
Re: Blip fest... Pre/post/after Party with weeklybeats showcase? (20 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I know that some of you have probably done the blip thing before and know this, but just realise that there will be a hundred pre and after parties, and there is a strong possibility of conflicting times with other side shows (and there are always some amazing artists at some of those shows)
If someone is going to try and do this, maybe have a think about a matinee show or something? Less chance of a conflict I would imagine
If I understand/recall correctly, the most favourited end up at the top as you have discovered.
We (admins) can't manually mod that list, however, I imagine that the most popular artists end up at the top for a reason - people go looking for their tracks, and like them so they favourite them.
Re: Week 13 -- upload said successful but track is not there? (9 replies, posted in Site Help)
Did it has a non-alphanumberic character in the file name maybe? We've had a few that have had issues with this.
dot.AY - Exactly right. That's what cTrix did this week and that was fine.
We try really hard to listen to all the tracks. Personally, I have had no internet at home for the last week and haven't been able to get through the number of tracks that I usually do.
Sometimes we have to rely on people reporting tracks because unfortunately, a lot of people don't read the rules.
If you report tracks that breach the FAQs it will not only make our lives easier, but save the site from potential legal trouble down the track.
If I could fix it myself I would Poppi, but I can't. Working on it.
Regular punters come with putting on awesome shows. There was no chipmusic scene in Melbourne three years ago, but we kept putting on shows that people loved so they brought their things. Its a cliche but if you build it they will come.
If anyone wants advice on putting on outside the box type shows, let me know. I have a document somewhere of learnings from putting on SoundBytes that would probably be useful to non-chip genres too.
Basically, I personally can't fix this, and I believe Trash80 is in San Francisco for the EFF show at the moment, so its a bit hard to get hold of him. When I/we can get onto him, we'll try and get this fixed.
Poppi, wouldn't hurt to link
Unison, I can take almost no credit, but thanks anyway
In fairness, it's not the number of people who are contributing that make it more or less managable. I mean, this is only two songs that we're talking about that had problems. It's the number of people who are actually able to fix stuff like this, and that number is exactly one. We're trying to get it sorted, but it quite likely is related to the square brackets. Unison, did you have any out of the ordinary characters in your title?
We will usually email if a track has to get deleted, but sometimes it takes a while to get through.
When did you upload?
Hi when I click on my week 7 submission Miss Optimistic it skips to a different track. When I uploaded it, it said it was successful.
Trash80 is currently probably in line to get on his Melbourne to LA flight so it may be a day or so before this can get looked at, we should be able to get it fixed though.
Unfortunately track checking (for problems like this) was a little more difficult than usual this week due to most of the admins being involved with Blip Festival Australia
