Still working in ableton. Tried to spend more time automating things and figuring out how to plan in advance for that. Still having a bit of a 'kitchen sink' issue where rather than be more strategic about what elements are highlighted and given center stage, I just tend to pile on more things to fill the space. Starting to settle in with some customized racks and things, which is good since it helps me work faster as I am more familiar with my starting elements.

Not much time for good mixing or mastering this week, which is why the bass is so out of control in the second half. Still working my way up to that phase, but mostly focusing on composition for now.

The bass isn't crazy out of control.  A few db quieter and it'd be fine.  The overall mix is sounding pretty decent really!

thanks! i added some compression at the end which didn't really take the time to tune properly. i think that pushed it over the line. there's also a big jump in volume when the bass cuts out during the first breakdown.

thanks for checking it out, and the kind words! onwards and upwards...

There's a lot of great work uploaded this week, but this one caught my ear.  The mix could use a little work, but the track sounds like something I would hear blasting out of a huge system in some dirty warehouse.   Nice work!

thanks! if all goes according to plan, i'll be at "huge system in some dirty warehouse" level by the end of the year.
